What you need to know about Green Cards from Neil Willies Insurance Brokers & Aviva

The UK formally left the European Union on 31 January 2020. Uncertainty remains on whether a Free Trade Agreement will be in place following the end of the Transition Period on 31 December 2020. On or after 1 January 2021, UK motor insurance customers driving in the European Economic Area, Andorra, Serbia and Switzerland will need physical proof of motor insurance when they travel, commonly referred to as a Green Card, if no agreement is reached.

In preparation for this Aviva and other insurers have reviewed our processes for the fulfilment of Green Cards to make sure they are well placed to deliver the service you and your clients expect. This update outlines the processes now in place to meet the needs of you and your clients so they’re well prepared from 1 January 2021. Find out everything you need to know with our Green Card FAQ document here.
Things will continue to evolve over the coming weeks but whatever the outcome, we’ll continue to update you with further information and/or actions you and your clients may need to take that are relevant to their policies as soon as we can.
